Installing NetCloak with Quid Pro Quo
Installing the NetCloak Plug-In
- Copy the "NetCloak Plug-In" file from the "NetCloak 2.5" folder to the
"Plug-Ins" folder in the same folder as the Quid Pro Quo application.
- Copy the "NetCloak.acgi" application into
the same folder as the Quid Pro Quo application (not the "Plug-Ins" folder).
You will need the CGI to set configuration and other NetCloak settings.
- Launch Quid Pro Quo.
If you want to process all ".html" files through NetCloak, also follow these steps:
- Select "Services..." from the "Control" menu.
- For each server that will serve "cloaked" pages, do the following:
- Select the server in the list and click "Edit Server...".
- Click the "Suffix Mappings" icon on the left side of the window.
- Click on the line for the ".html" suffix.
Info will fill in the boxes below the suffix list.
- Change the "Action:" with the popup menu to "CLOAK_PI".
- Click OK to close the "Configure Quid Pro Quo" window.
- Click OK to close the "Services" window.
Installing the NetCloak CGI
- Copy the "NetCloak.acgi" from the "NetCloak 2.5" folder
to the "cgi-bin" folder in the same folder as the Quid Pro Quo application.
- Double-click the "NetCloak.acgi" application to launch it. Starting NetCloak by
double-clicking on it is not required, as the Web server will
automatically start it as needed. However, starting by hand is
recommended to avoid possible start-up errors (like out of memory
problems).
- Launch Quid Pro Quo.
- Select "Services..." from the "Control" menu.
- For each server that will serve "cloaked" pages, do the following:
- Select the server in the list and click "Edit Server...".
- Click the "Actions" icon on the left side of the window.
- Click "New Action".
- Type "CLOAK" in the "Name:" field.
- Type "/cgi-bin/NetCloak.acgi" in the "Path:" field.
- Click the "Suffix Mappings" icon on the left side of the window.
- Click "New Mapping".
- Enter ".nclk" in the "Suffix:" field.
- Enter "text/html" in the "MIME Type:" field.
- Enter "TEXT" in the "Type:" field.
- Enter "*" in the "Creator:" field.
- Select "CLOAK" from the "Action:" popup menu.
- Click OK to close the "Configure Quid Pro Quo" window.
- Click OK to close the "Services" window.
If you want to process all ".html" files through NetCloak, also follow these steps:
